Locking all rulesets within a branch

A best practice is to lock branch rulesets before you merge the branch. Lock the branch when development is complete so that no further modifications can be made.

To lock all rulesets within a branch, do the following:

  1. Ensure that all records in the branch rulesets are checked in. You cannot lock a ruleset if any of its records are checked out.
  2. Select Actions > Lock for the branch you want to lock.
  3. In the Lock a Branch dialog, enter the password to lock the rulesets in the branch and then click Lock Branch.
  4. In the confirmation dialog box that appears, click OK to close the dialog box.
